4th Generation iPad Ship Times Slip to 1 Week on Apple Online Store

4th-generation iPadHave your eye on one of those speedy new fourth-generation iPads but figured there was no hurry because Apple made plenty of them? Think again, buddy — Cupertino’s online store now shows all Wi-Fi models out of stock.

Apple has effectively sold out of the latest, fourth-generation iPad with Retina Display, with the company’s online store now showing “available to ship” times of one week.

While that’s not quite as bad as a two-week wait to get your hands on an iPad mini, it appears the company is struggling to meet demand for its latest tablets, mere days after opening its virtual doors for preorders on the latest models.

Wi-Fi + Cellular-equipped iPad models continue to show a mid-November ship date on Apple.com, but both black and white Wi-Fi only models appear to be sold out in all storage configurations.

If you really want a fourth-gen iPad — or an iPad mini, for that matter — it seems like your best bet will be to head to a retail store near you this Friday, November 2 starting at 8am local time, and hope for the best.
