Wacom’s New Bamboo Stylus Expands for the Job

Today Wacom launched a new addition to its stylus line, the Bamboo Stylus pocket.  The new stylus is designed for ultimate portability by expanding, extending and contracting to meet varying needs such as writing, sketching or navigating.

When the stylus is contracted, it measures just 3.7″ and is perfect for navigating through emails and web pages or playing games.  It expands to a more traditional stylus size, just over 4.6″, for a more comfortable writing experience.

When it comes to portability, the new Bamboo stylus is perfect not only because of the size, but also the capability to attach directly to your tablet or smartphone via a handy headphone jack clip on the stylus cap.  The simple clip makes it easily accessible when needed and much harder to lose – something that many stylus users have likely experienced!

The Bamboo Stylus pocket comes with a choice of two pen tips, either soft or firm, to suit individual needs.  The soft tip is designed for those wanting to apply less pressure, while the firm tip is enables stronger pressure while writing or drawing.  The firm tip measures just 6mm, allowing for enhanced precision when writing or sketching.  A replacement firm tip and the optional soft tip are both are included in the package.

The stylus is constructed from high-quality aluminum for a sleek, shiny look, with a rubber grip for comfort.  It also comes with three exchangeable color rings for a more personalized feel.  It’s currently available on the Bamboo website for $34.95.

The Bamboo Stylus pocket is the latest addition to the Bamboo line, which includes the free note-taking iPad app Bamboo Paper, the traditional Bamboo Stylus solo, and the Bamboo Stylus duo featuring a two-sided design with a ballpoint pen.
