Apple has released a major software update for Apple TV 2nd and 3rd Generation and it is now available for download. iOS 5.1 for Apple TV that carries build number 10A406e brings several new features to the device including Shared Photo Streams, ability to search movie trailers, iTunes account switching, new screen savers, ability to reorder icons on the second page by holding down the select button on the remote, and AirPlay improvements. The update also brings some performance and stability upgrades. It is strange that Apple is calling this major software update iOS 5.1 instead of iOS 6 like other iOS devices.
