Microsoft updated Outlook for Mac with Retina support a while ago, but the company had said it didn’t have plans to update any of the other apps in the Office suite. But it looks like they received enough complaints to change their mind, because Microsoft released a new update today that brings Retina support to Word, Excel and Powerpoint for Mac.
You can get the Office 2011 for Mac 14.2.4 update from Microsoft AutoUpdate, you can download it here.
This is a much needed update for anyone who has to use Office on a Retina MacBook Pro, because it looked terrible before. But I’m actually surprised Microsoft decided do something about it, I figured they’d be too busy trying to patch the latest Internet Explorer exploit.
