It’s hard to believe but its already been five years since Apple introduced the world to the App Store. The original App Store was launched a year after the original iPhone and was a top priority for developer’s who wanted to create apps for Apple’s popular new smartphone.
To celebrate the 5th anniversary, Apple has put together a timeline of all of the App Store’s key milestones over the years. From 10 million apps downloaded in the first weekend to the 50 billionth app download earlier this year, it’s fun to see what progress the App Store has made in the past five years.
