When Google announced that it would be eliminating its popular RSS feed feature, app developers scrambled to find ways to let users integrate their favorite blogs from Google Reader into their own service. Feedly came out of the ashes to be the next big thing. After a few bug fixes and updates, the company can now boast more than 12 million users. Yesterday, the RSS reader company DevHD announced the launch of a new pro service that will allow a few additional features not currently available for free subscribers.
DevHD celebrated the launch of Feedly Pro by offering 5,000 lifetime subscriptions for only $99, which sold out in only eight hours. This fall, you’ll be able to buy into the pro model for $5 per month.
Feedly Pro features in-article search capabilities, one-click saves to Evernote, the ability to add an HTTPS security tag to your Feedly browsing, and premium support, which puts you at the front of the line for resolving any issues you may have.
In-article searches allow users to search key words in individual web articles. You can type in a word in the search bar and Feedly will generate a list of all articles in your RSS feed that use the word.
One-click Evernote integration allows users to save new notes into their notebox, including the ability to add it to a specific category or create a new one inside Feedly.
The HTTPS security feature puts an added “s” on your Feedly browsing so you can be sure that whatever website you are reading is secure.
Premium support lets subscribers jump to the front of the line when getting help from Feedly’s tech team. Hopefully, you won’t have to use that feature too much.
You can’t become a lifetime member anymore. However, the $5 per-month Pro subscription will roll out this fall. Feedly is available for free in the App Store.
