Touchfire iPad mini Keyboard Overlay Needs Your Help Getting Funded

Touchfire for iPad mini

A few years ago, Touchfire revolutionized the touch screen keyboard experience with the iPad Keyboard Overlay. Instead of adding extra bulk and weight with a keyboard case or folio, this flexible overlay simply rests on top of your iPad’s screen, making it possible for you to have a real typing experience on a touch screen.

Where is the Keyboard Overlay for the iPad mini, you ask? Well, today Touchfire has launched another Kickstarter campaign to help fund the creation of their specially designed Keyboard Overlay for iPad mini. Plus, the company has designed a case for both models that works flawlessly with the Keyboard Overlay.

The team at Touchfire took eight months to design the perfect overlay for the iPad mini. After much effort, they realized that they could essentially stretch out certain keys on the overlay to make it easier for you to touch type without getting finger cramps.

For example, the Keyboard Overlay for iPad mini has slightly larger “L” and “A” keys and slightly smaller “Y,” “G,” and “B” keys. This design optimizes the keyboard so that fingers that have to do the most movement don’t have to work in such confined spaces.

Similar to the full screen Keyboard Overlay, the Touchfire for iPad mini attaches to the device using magnets. It can be folded out of the way, or remain right on top of your iPad mini without getting in the way when you want to take it with you.

For the first time, Touchfire has designed a case that is a perfect match for the Keyboard Overlay. The case works similar to Apple’s Smart Cover, but with a few changes to compliment the overlay better.

It features four foldable panels instead of three for more viewing angles. It also works better with the Touchfire Keyboard Overlay so you can fold the cover in half with the keyboard in the middle. This case also has a better typing angle than Apple’s Smart Cover.

The Touchfire Keyboard Overlay for iPad mini, plus the compatible case are available for preorder as a Kickstarter project for $45. You can also pledge $25 for a Touchfire case for your full-sized iPad. If you don’t already have the Keyboard Overlay for the iPad, you can purchase one from the company’s website today for $49.95.

This Kickstarter campaign began at 9:00 a.m. ET on Sept. 17 and only two hours later, it had already reached 60 percent of its goal. Preorder your Touchfire Keyboard Overlay for iPad mini today.
