Hey developers! Submit your Mavericks apps now!

OS X Mavericks has gone Golden Master and we’re expecting to be released later this month, perhaps around the Apple event scheduled for next week. In the interim, Apple has put the word out to registered developers to get their apps ready for the new operating system.

An e-mail sent to developers – and posted on the Apple Developer web site – reads:

Make sure your app takes advantage of the great new features in OS X Mavericks when the world’s most advanced desktop operating system becomes available to millions of customers later this fall. Download OS X Mavericks GM seed and Xcode 5.0.1 GM seed, available on the Mac Dev Center. Build your apps with these latest seeds, then test and submit them to the Mac App Store.

This is a good indication we’re not too far away from Mavericks’ release. Apple’s ready to start vetting applications to be released on the Mac App Store, and it wants to stockpile those apps so Mac owners that upgrade (or buy new machines equipped with Mavericks) will have fresh apps to use. The same thing happened with iOS 7 – Apple put out the call for apps in September, about a week before the operating system was released.

So if you are a Mac developer and you’re working on new apps or updates with support for new features in Mavericks, now’s the time to get crackin’. We can’t wait to see what you’re working on!
