Scout for iPhone gets voice recognition for truly hands free driving

Scout, the popular GPS navigation app by Telenav, has just received an update that brings true voice recognition that lets the app listen for your commands as long as Scout is open.

Among other features in the update, Scout can now pull in all your favorite places and contacts right from Facebook for even easier navigation. That information can then be synced across devices that you use Scout on.

Scout also includes useful features such as adaptive routing which can help you adjust routes based on incidents as they happen. For longer commutes that involve highways where road construction and accidents are commonplace, adaptive routing can help. Real time traffic speed updates are also included which let you view on a map what speed traffic is flowing at in given areas.

If you happen to check out the update, let us know what you think! Do you use Scout for navigation or do you use something else? It’s also worth noting that Scout current only works inside the United States.
