Surgeon Simulator Hits the App Store, Now Where Did I Put That Drill… Oops

Surgeon Simulator 1In January, Bossa Studios leaked a very vague trailer for a version of their hit game Surgeon Simulator to launch on the iPad. At the time, we thought it was some kind of dentist spinoff. We were sort of right. Last week, Surgeon Simulator Touch launched on the iPad. The original game that spawned a million gameplay videos now includes dental and optical surgery. Don’t forget your scalpel (and coffee mug, and transistor radio, and… beer bottle?).

Surgeon Simulator for the iPad includes the original, bloody content from the Heart and Double-Kidney transplants. Plus, the touch screen version includes two new surgeries. You can help Bob see better with the Eyes transplant, or make his smile brighter with the Teeth transplant.

Surgeon Simulator 3Additionally, you won’t be confined to the operating room. You’ll be able to go mobile with the moving trolley, which rolls along the hospital corridors as you work.

Instead of seeing Nigel’s iconic first-person point-of-view arm as he struggles to pick up and use the tools made available to him, you will only have yourself to blame when you drop an empty soda bottle into poor Bob’s chest cavity. The tools are virtually in your hands as you tap, hold, drag, and drop the variety of nonsensical items at your disposal.

Surgeon Simulator 2You can easily become part of the Surgeon Simulator botched operation video family by recording your performance right from within the game on a fourth-generation iPad or higher.

Currently, the game is suffering a crashing issue on the iPad 2 and iPad mini. The team at Bossa Studios is aware of the crash and is working on a fix. In the meantime, the developers recommend that you try turning your iPad off and on again. If that doesn’t work, try closing all other apps running in the background. It should improve game performance if you still experience the crashing issue.

Surgeon Simulator is available on the iPad for $5.99. Download it in the App Store today.
