Rovio has released the Star Wars inspired version of Angry Birds called Angry Birds Star Wars in the App Store and it is now available for download. The game has been released as two separate versions, one is for iPhone and iPod touch and the other one is the HD version for iPad. The title is heavily inspired by the Star Wars series as the characters of Angry Birds game look similar to, have the super powers and names of the characters of Star Wars series. In the gameplay Angry Birds are the ‘Rebel birds’ that take on evil Imperial Pigs which are led by their leader Darth Vader who is the Lord of the Pigs.
Angry Birds Star Wars features more than 80 levels in locations such as the Pig Star and Tatooine. Rovio has introduced new gameplay mechanics in this version of Angry birds as now Angry Birds are equipped with lightsabers, blasters, and Jedi powers in their battle against Imperial Pigs. For the first time in Angry Birds series users will be able to level up their birds as they play and improve their skills.
Apart from its 80 levels, Angry Birds Star Wars also features secret levels including the R2-D2 and C-3PO levels. The game has new goals, acheviements, gameplay, and the Mighty Falcon that will rescue you from any situation provided you have enough stars to call him.
Rovio has promised free updates and new levels to the game in the future. Angry Birds Star Wars is available in two separate versions. iPhone and iPod touch version is available for $0.99 whereas the Angry Birds Star Wars HD for iPad is available for $2.99.
