Americans may be enjoying the spoils of their cellular-equipped iPads, but they haven’t quite reached every corner of the world yet — including China, where the costlier models will finally be available later this week.
Apple announced Tuesday that Wi-Fi + Cellular versions of the iPad mini and fourth-generation iPad will finally go on sale in China on Friday, January 18. Currently available in more than 100 countries, Chinese iPad fans have had to make do with the Wi-Fi only models thus far.
Available through Apple retail stores, the Apple Online Store and select Apple Authorized Retailers in China, the latest generation of cellular-equipped iPad and iPad mini models start at $629 and $459, respectively.
The iPad mini arrived in China back on December 7 along with the iPhone 5, which quickly topped more than two million units sold in the first weekend.
