Apple announced iTunes 11 alongside the new iPhone 5 and iPod touch 5th generation at its September 12th event. The company announced that the new update for its widely used media player will be released at the end of October but that didn’t happen. To enquire whats going on behind the scenes AllThingsD contacted Apple to get official words from the company on the release of its highly anticipated update for iTunes. An Apple’s spokesperson responded with the following statement.
“The new iTunes is taking longer than expected and we wanted to take a little extra time to get it right. We look forward to releasing this new version of iTunes with its dramatically simpler and cleaner interface and seamless integration with iCloud before the end of November.”
Apple is testing the final build of iTunes 11 all by itself as the company has not released the beta version of iTunes 11 to its ever growing developers community. iTunes 11 will bring a simpler design for the music player that will be inspired by iOS’s stock music app, new design for mini player, improved performance, full window interface for both Mac and Windows, new iOS inspired look for its online stores including the App Store and more.
