Apple has sent out invitations for a media event scheduled for next Wednesday, September 12. The event will be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco and will begin at 10:00 AM Pacific / 1:00 PM Eastern. The invitation has the following tagline, “It’s almost here.”
Apple is expected to unveil the 6th-generation iPhone and give a final preview of iOS 6. There have also been rumors that Apple will announce an iPad mini, but some sources indicate that Apple is planning a second media event for October.
The “5″ in the shadow of the invitation may suggest that the next iPhone will be called the iPhone 5, but I’m still hoping they drop the numbering like they did with the latest iPad. But I really can’t think of what else the 5 could mean.
