Apple Watch Rumored to Hit the Runway at Paris Fashion Week

22 Paris

We may get to see more Apple Watches in the wild during a special event in Paris at its annual Fashion Week. The Tuesday event is being co-hosted by Apple and fashion store Colette, and the invitation features a series of bubbles which look suspiciously like the Apple Watch home screen and suggests that Apple will be showcasing the watch.

Apple is not known for its ties to the world of fashion, but the Apple Watch is certainly poised to change that. In addition to many watch-band designs aimed at casual and athletic wearers, the Apple Watch has several high end bands and the potential for 3rd party developers to expand the band offerings into any style or fashion design that they choose. We are going to see a lot of creativity in designs over the next couple of years and if the Apple Watch is as well thought out as Apple claims, then I believe it will be a very popular product.

There is no indication of what the event will specifically involve but it is only a matter of hours before we are able to find out since Tuesday in Paris is getting close. I suspect given the nature of the watch that other such events will take place with other related areas such as running and health focused events.

We are beginning to see “Tim Cook’s Apple” which certainly has a different flavor than under Steve Jobs and yet it is both fresh and exciting, with products that are going to be just as popular and impactful. I never would have guessed that an Apple product would be the center of a Fashion Week event, but given their history of design I am not really surprised either.
