As part of normal practices for design and building a structure as large as Apple’s “Campus 2” (AKA: the Spaceship), the company released a report detailing the economic impact of both its current business and the upcoming construction in Cupertino.
According to TheNextWeb, the report shows the fiscal impact of Campus 2 on Cupertino, Sunnyvale, and Santa Clara including a diagram that reflects the geographic relationship between the two campuses.
The growth scenerio of the report shows that Apple has increased its employee base by 18 percent annually for the past five years. The company plans to hire 7,400 more between now and 2016. When Campus 2 is ready to open, Apple expects to have a total employee count of 23,400. With the help of the new employment wing, Apple claims that, through direct and indirect business, the Santa Clara County will see a total of 41,000 jobs in the area.
Apple’s estimates show that, for every one new job created in Cupertino, an additional 0.75 jobs are created within Santa Clara County as a result. The indirect effect being that additional jobs are created indirectly by Apple employees in the area because of their own and company expenditures.
Apple also pointed out the its tax contribution in the area will result in more than $66 million worth of public improvements, including roadways, landscapes, and utility upgrades.
Basically, Cupertino specifically, and Santa Clara County at large will benefit greatly from the addition of Apple’s Campus 2.
