As the new product season begins, rumors have already started that suppliers have production underway on the next version of the iPad. The sixth-generation Apple tablet is supposedly on the line right now. According to unnamed sources speaking with Bloomberg News, the new iPad will feature anti-reflection coating.
For the life of the iPad, one of its biggest flaws has been the glare that bounces off of the screen in daylight. Amazon made a point of it in a variety of Kindle commercials. Using an iPad outdoors is difficult, to say the least.
Today’s rumor from Bloomberg is a pleasant bit of hopefulness. I’d love to have some kind of help cutting down on glare when sitting outside at my local coffee shop.
With this good news comes a bit of bad. In the same sentence that Bloomberg claims that the new tablets will feature anti-reflection coating, the news organization also noted that it could restrict production of the iPad. So, we’ll all be clamoring for the iPad Air 2, but there won’t be enough to go around and all but the lucky few that stay up late or stand in line for hours will be waiting a month or longer.
Lots of rumors have sprouted up over the past few months regarding the iPad Air. Leaked images coming from the supply chain show Touch ID, a new speaker grate, and recessed buttons. Other than a slight reduction in size, the shape of the tablet won’t change any.
