AppTrigger Blue turns First Person Shooter Into a Realistic Shootout

AppTrigger 2Last year, Apple pushed iOS 7 to the iPhone and iPad. Since then, the newest operating system has been adopted on 87 percent of all Apple devices. One special feature that Apple included in iOS 7 was the ability for third-party companies to create game controllers that are certified for use with Apple products. At the same time, Apple released an SDK that developers can use to make their games compatible with those game controllers.

Since then, we’ve seen only a couple of controllers that are compatible with the iPad. Today, ModdedApps is looking for funding for a MFi controller that lets you get completely immersed in the world of first person shooter (FPS) games.

The AppTrigger Blue is a handheld controller that looks like a weapon and has been specially designed to work with FPS games. Connect your iPad to the barrel of the gun and interact with games like Dead Trigger 2 and Call of Duty: Strike Team.

AppTrigger 3The controller features a handle and trigger similar to a shotgun and a barrel that you can look down to aim. It connects to your device using Bluetooth so you can play the game as if you are in the middle of the action.

Use voice control to call in air strikes. Toss a virtual grenade with realistic hand gestures. The motion sensor picks up your physical movement making it possible for you to activate the grenade-throwing feature.

The motion detection system lets you jump, crouch, and look around using real movement. The electromagnet system simulates the feel of a gun’s recoil whenever you shoot. You can activate the target scope feature by raising the gun to eye level and tap the trigger to shoot.

The AppTrigger can also be transformed into three different types of gun. By adjusting the mount, you can switch between an assault rifle, a shotgun, and a submachine gun.

AppTrigger 1ModdedApps needs funding to finish production on the gun-like game controller. The company recently launched a Kickstarter campaign to earn enough to manufacture and mass-produce the final product.

The company is offering pledges for the AppTrigger Touch, which does not include motion control features, the AppTrigger Handgun, which is a mini version of the full controller specifically designed for the iPhone, and the AppTrigger Blue, which is described above. The AppTrigger Touch can be pre-ordered for only $45 as an early bird pledge, while the AppTrigger Blue can be pre-ordered for $100. Visit the company’s AppTrigger Kickstarter page to find out more and invest in your FPS future.
