Belkin Teams with Crock-Pot to Create iOS-Compatible Slow-Cooker

Never let it be said that we at Mac|Life dislike iOS integration, but the latest news from CES in Las Vegas shows that some concepts are just getting weird. As The Verge reports, Belkin’s latest “innovation” is to team up with Crock-Pot to introduce a slow cooker that work’s with Belkin’s home automation technology. It’s said to mark only the beginning of a host of similar devices.

But rest assured, it’s still a slow cooker. The unit doesn’t look terribly different from the rest of Crock-Pot’s other appliances, and you’ll still find manual controls for temperature settings on the front of the device.

But the really cool stuff happens with the iOS integration, which allows users to adjust the temperature and set timers from an iPhone or an iPad through the WeMo iOS app. I would say that now we’ve seen everything, but considering that similar devices are on the way, there’s still plenty of room left to be surprised.

Interested? It’s officially called the “Crock-Pot Smart Slow Cooker enabled with WeMo,” and it’ll be available sometime this spring for $99.
