If you thought Quantum Physics was boring and complicated, think again. With the recent launch of a new science-friendly arcade game, not only can you learn about the Periodic Table, but you can also smash together atoms to make new elements. That doesn’t sound too geeky. Does it?
Atomic Fusion: Particle Collider is an arcade game that requires fast reaction time, but doesn’t require a science degree. Players direct atoms toward hot plasma and amass enough energy to attain fusion and create new elements. Swipe the atom to move it and tap to switch between matter and antimatter. As you gather atomic energy through matching the colors, you will be able to fuse a new element. You’re right. This does sound pretty geeky.
Players must fuse all of the elements in the Periodic Table in order to win the game. By dragging and tapping the atoms, players match correct colored plasma waves to the atom and fuse a new element. However, mixing matter with antimatter will deplete energy, making it harder to match plasma waves as they approach.
Players collect powerups to help them get through levels, including Bullet Time, which slows things down, Quantum Barrier, which is a shield. If you are the first to discover a brand new element, you will get to name it for all other players to see.
Atomic Fusion: Particle Collider will explode in the App Store on Jan. 22. The game is free up to Element 10 (Neon). The next 118 elements will cost you $1.99.
