The iPhone 5S is not only real, it’s the world’s first 64-bit smartphone — and to take full advantage of it, Epic Games will debut a conclusion to the Infinity Blade saga that’s ready-made for the hardware.
Apple’s Phil Schiller turned the stage over to Chair co-founder Donald Mustard, who gave us a first look at Epic Games’ upcoming Infinity Blade III, which is billed as the conclusion to what’s now being called a trilogy.
Infinity Blade III takes full advantage of the powerful 64-bit A7 processor being introduced with the new iPhone 5S, but Mustard claims it only took two hours to convert the game over thanks to Apple’s iOS 7, which is also 64-bit capable.
With up to eight worlds and the ability to play two characters, Infinity Blade III combines advanced rendering effects such as depth of field, blur and lens flares “that would make J.J. Abrams proud,” Mustard quipped.
Infinity Blade III is scheduled to debut alongside the iPhone 5S on Sept. 20.
