Evomail+ iPad Update Addresses User Complaints and Adds New iOS7 Features

Evomail+

It’s not often that I take a new email client app seriously because there are already so many out there and very few bring enough new to the table to make it worth switching. Evomail+ is certainly worth a closer look today because they took a mediocre app and listened to their users to add the most requested features. Let’s see if it is enough to make it a contender.

The list of new features is certainly impressive and includes things that I would likely find myself using. I receive hundreds of emails every day and a huge part of my process is sorting, prioritizing, and replying to messages. iOS 7 makes this easy but Mail has several quirks that I wish I could change. Evomail+ lets you customize left and right swipes so that your most used actions are right at your finger tips. In Mail I am stuck with the default and it’s strange that the swipe in Gmail archives and the swipe in iCloud deletes.

Evomail+ also provides a snooze button which is a really great idea. I love the snooze on my alarm clock and I think a lot of people are going to identify with an email snooze. For some reason I feel less guilty about not replying immediately if I know it will be coming back as a “new” email later on.

“With Evomail+, we’re bringing an incredible new platform to the table to continue building upon,” said Jonathan George, CEO and co-founder of Evomail. “I’m happy to say that not only have we met it, we’ve leaped over it with Evomail+.”

In addition to very usable new features, there has been a general update for iOS 7 and a number of bug fixes. I think the Evomail+ group is taking this seriously and are really excited about what they are doing. Passion counts a lot for me, especially when it is backed up by a good product. Let’s hope they add Exchange compatibility in the future, or that my University finally drops Exchange all together.
