After months of suffering iOS users have finally got some relief as the official Google Maps app for iOS has finally been released for iPhone and iPod touch. The app does not feature native support for the iPad but we are sure it will be added in the upcoming updates. Google Maps app brings experience to iOS devices which has been missing since the app was pulled from iOS with the release of iOS 6 and replaced by Apple’s own Maps app.
The app provides full Google Maps experience to the whole world and features accurate maps coupled with Google’s local search, voice guided navigation, street view, and other Google Maps features. The app also shows reviews and ratings for places to eat, drink, shop and play. Google Maps Search helps users in finding adresses, places, and businesses while they are on the go. A nice feature of the app allows users to sign in to their Google account and sync all the past searches they made through other devices.
The Directions feature provides voice guided turn-by-turn navigation to drivers and also shows routes nearby train, bus, and subway stations to those who like to walk. The live traffic information is also available to users of many cities worldwide.
Google has greatly changed the user-interface of its new Google Maps app from the interface of the older app that remained unchanged for over 5 years. The new design features streamlined interface that makes using the appĀ convenientĀ for the users.
Google Maps app for iPhone and iPod touch is now available in the App Store for free. iPad users can also download it from the link below.
