I am looking for advice about web browsers, because I cannot install Chrome, Opera keeps crashing, and Firefox just doesn’t seem safe being at version 3.x. I’m not a huge fan of Safari, and upgrading to a new Mac isn’t an option right now.

Mozley is still producing Mozilla apps optimized for PowerPC Macs. By visiting the website (rpm-mozilla.org.uk), you can download a special version of Camino, Firefox, Thunderbird, or SeaMonkey that is created with PowerPC Macs in mind. These browsers are specifically tuned to work well with PPC, and are snappier than their fat binary (Intel + PPC combo app) counterparts.
PPC-optimized versions of Camino, Firefox, Thunderbird, and SeaMonkey can easily be had online.
