Apple released a very narrowly targeted update for iOS on Monday—one many iOS users might never notice, in fact.
iOS 6.1.1 has one purpose: To fix “an issue that could impact cellular performance and reliability for iPhone 4S.” Apple made no other details available.
The update comes two weeks after Apple released iOS 6.1, which offered LTE support for more carriers, the ability to purchase movie tickets through Fandango, the ability for iTunes Match subscribers to download individual songs from iCloud, and a new button to reset the Advertising Identifier.
Monday’s update should be available as an over-the-air upgrade, or can be downloaded through iTunes.
