If you’re finding it hard to stay focused while waiting for a swanky new Kindle to arrive in the next month or so, why not fire up the Mac App Store and check out Amazon’s latest update to the desktop version?
Amazon has released Kindle for Mac 1.10.3, a new update to its desktop e-reader client software available free in the Mac App Store.
The latest version adds support for panning and swipe gestures in OS X Lion and OS X Mountain Lion, allowing users to flip through pages with the greatest of ease. The latest Kindle for Mac also adds support for Kindle Format 8 books, bringing richer formatting than ever before.
No update would be complete without a few smaller improvements, and Kindle for Mac 1.10.3 has ’em in the form of support for larger libraries and higher performance for books with a large number of notes and highlights. Lastly, Kindle for Mac squashes a number of bugs while adding support for Japanese.
Kindle for Mac 1.10.3 is available free on the Mac App Store and requires OS X 10.6 or later.
