Ever since Apple launched iTunes Radio, music streaming services have been working extra hard to keep their listeners. Both Spotify and Pandora have received iOS 7 redesigns. Pandora has been especially active since iTunes Radio launched. In September, the company finally made their iOS app available for the iPad.
Today, the first streaming music service to hit the big time has just updated their iOS app to include a feature that has been on everyone’s wish list. Pandora for iOS now has an alarm clock.
Pandora’s new Alarm Clock allows listeners to wake up to their favorite station at a specific time. When your alarm goes off, the music will begin while the album’s art scrolls in the background. If you wish to continue listening to Pandora while you get ready, tap the song title or artist name on your screen.
Plus, users can sleep in a few more minutes with the snooze feature. The snooze can be set for five, 10, 15, or 20 minutes. While you snooze, the remaining time until the alarm goes off again will be displayed. So, while you are coming around to waking up, you can take a quick peak at how much longer you stay under the covers.
Additionally, Pandora listeners can also fall asleep to their favorite stations with the Sleep Timer feature without it affecting their morning wake-up call.
Pandora is available for the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. Users can listen from their app without having to pay a monthly fee. Version 5.1 is a free update. If you have automatic updates turned on, your iOS device will already sport the new feature. If you don’t have Pandora yet, you can download it for free in the App Store today.
