According to a new report, Apple will launch a second-generation iPad mini with Retina display in the third quarter of this year. Earlier reports claimed the Retina iPad mini would be released this spring, but I think it’s much more believable that Apple would release it in the fall, about a year after the iPad mini was launched.
Apple really doesn’t have a reason to rush into releasing a new iPad mini since the first-generation device is still selling at a steady pace. The company is expected to ship 55 million iPad mini unites in 2013.
