There are rumors going around that Apple will release an additional iPhone model that will feature a larger screen, about 5-inches. This could help the company be more competitive with the popular Samsung Galaxy S III and other huge smartphones. The larger iPhone will be unveiled at Apple’s June 2013 Worldwide Developer’s Conference, according to Chinese Commercial Times.
Apple phone must land big counter-offensive, the industry pointed out that, led by “Californian” models iPhone new machine (tentative name the iPhone 5s and the iPhone the Math) leader, will be in June, the official launch of the new aircraft MasterCard are all, including a screen more than 4.8 ” iPhone’s first large-size smartphone has become the key to Apple’s reproduction glorious. The (A1 transferred A3 Version).
I personally think these giant smartphones are dumb, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Apple decides to release one. It would be similar to the move Apple made by releasing the iPad mini last year, giving customers more choices when it comes to size.
Marco Arment, creator of Instapaper, has an interesting take on this rumor:
The recently rumored, larger-screened “iPhone Math”, or more likely “iPhone Plus”, is plausible as an additional model (not a replacement) alongside the 4” iPhone. And there’s a good chance that it would have a 4.94”, 16:9 screen.
Why would Apple release this?
First and foremost, there’s significant demand for larger-screened phones. As much aswe make fun of the Galaxy Note, it sells surprisingly well, especially outside of the United States. Other large Android phones sell very well almost everywhere.
The iPhone has lost a significant number of sales by buyers either wanting a larger screen or being drawn to how much better the large screens look in stores.
