Dance Dance Revolution wowed the world by making it possible for gamers to earn points for sweet moves. SEGA has figured out a way to bring the sweat inducing, bouncing good time to your iPad using the FaceTime camera to let you dance your way to stardom with Go Dance.
Go Dance uses Extreme Reality technology to bring full-body motion detection and control to your iPad using the front facing camera. The technology recognizes your body’s movement and transforms it to 3-D motion inside the game. The app can read movements in any level of light and transmit it using real-time analysis of a body’s joint movement.
“For the first time ever, the millions of iPad owners around the world can now enjoy the fully immersive experience of motion controlled gaming with nothing more than the device they already own and no additional hardware,” said Sarit Firon, CEO of Extreme Reality. “The integration of Extreme Reality’s technology by a gaming powerhouse such as SEGA demonstrates that this innovative new approach to motion control has the potential to drastically change the gaming industry.”
There is no information at this time as to cost or the official release date. However, SEGA promises to launch Go Dance this fall.
