Sept. 10 Confirmed for Apple Event; iPhone 5S Announcement Expected

If you’ve been wondering if all these rumors we’ve been throwing your way over the last few months have any truth to them, you’ll be happy to know that at least one does. As Jim Dalrymple of The Loop relates, Apple just sent out media invitations for an event on September 10, long thought to be the official date for the release of the iPhone 5S (and possibly the iPhone 5C).

The message, stating “This should brighten everyone’e day,” displayed the Apple logo along with colorful polkadots that recall Jony Ive’s overhaul of iOS 7, which is also expected to make its official debut at the event. According to the invitation, he event is set to take place at 10 AM PST on September 10 at Apple’s Cupertino campus.

The phones themselves will likely follow on September 20. If Apple chooses to announce both the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C at the same event, it’ll be the first time the Cupertino giant has announced two phones at once. It’s also possible that we’ll have an opportunity to learn more about iTunes Radio at the event, as it’s expected to release with iOS 7 and the new iPhones.
