The Walking Dead: The Game was one of the most popular games of this year. It is listed on Apple’s “Best of 2012” iPhone list in the Showpiece Games category. Like the comic from nearly a decade ago and the revolutionary television show that followed, The Walking Dead: The Game became an addiction. We want more. For the few people left in the U.S. that haven’t already been sucked into the game, Telltale Games is giving it away for free for a limited time. Merry Christmas to us!
The Walking Dead: The Game focuses on the experience of one character, Lee. Instead of simply blasting away zombies all day, players must interact with other characters and are faced with tough choices that eventually affect the outcome of the game.
It is this unique and deeply involving plot structure that has contributed to the huge success of the game. Even though the total cost of all five episodes is a hefty $20, players are more than willing to plunk down their dollar bills in order to find out how it ends.
For those that have not already downloaded the first episode, you’ll be getting a Christmas treat if you download The Walking Dead: The Game today. By getting the first episode for free, you’ve knocked the price down by 25 percent. That’s a pretty good holiday sale.
Check out our full review of episode 1 to find out if The Walking Dead is the game for you, which it will be. Everybody loves zombies. Then, download TWD Ep. 1 for free in the App Store. You’ll be adding the additional episodes to your roster within the first hour of game play.
