I guess I’m feeling a bit sentimental today. Normally, I’d skip past any parenting app in the App Store for an action-packed stunt racer. You’d think that was a no-brainer. However, within the past year, a few friends of mine have brought bundles of joy into the world, and another close friend has just announced he will be populating the planet with his DNA as well. So, in honor of my new-parent friends, this week, instead of spotlighting a super cool motorcycle racing game, I’m spotlighting an app that helps you become a super awesome parent. I think this decision was a no-brainer.
Baby Bundle is an all-in-on parenting app created by pediatric expert Dr. Jennifer Trachtenberg MD. It helps new parents stay organized with monitoring tools, offers tips with a parenting guide, and includes access to a parenting forum where moms and dads can go to get advice.
The included monitoring tool lets parents record their newborn’s daily activities, including sleeping, feeding, diapering, and eating. Parents can view progress on a visual graph and export data to share with their pediatrician.
The parenting guide, written by Dr. Trachtenberg, features tips and advice on what to expect when the baby arrives. The interactive forum lets parents ask questions from others in the community and receive feedback from other moms and dads, as well as Dr. Trachtenberg.
The app also features a photo journal for new parents to create a digital baby book with pictures, journal entries, and milestones. Entries can be shared with friends and family.
The calendar makes it possible for parents to keep track of appointments and vaccinations, as well as what to expect at check-ups. The growth tracker lets you record your little one’s measurements including weight, length, and head circumference.
You can also purchase the in-app iOS-to-iOS baby monitor to listen in on your baby while in a different room. If you don’t want to leave your iPhone or iPad behind, you can also invest in Withings’ Smart Baby Monitor and use it with compatible software inside the app.
