Twitter just announced an update to its official app that adds a few new features that fans are sure to enjoy. Now, users can swipe between timelines and include photos in direct messages. Twitter for iOS is becoming more personalized than ever before.
According to a recent blog post, Twitter’s new features, are available today. The official app now has a new design with a refreshed look. You can now swipe between Home, Activity, and Discovery to see different timelines.
Photo sharing is finally available through direct messages. Now, you don’t have to share personal photos with your entire fan base on your timeline. There are a few political officials that probably are wishing this feature existed a couple of years ago.
You can also choose to view replies, retweets, and favorites as notifications from the people that you follow. Twitter search feature has been updated to include filtering tweets from people you follow and near you within the results.
Finally, users can now save web articles to read later from Twitter feeds using the Safari Reading List.
Version 6.0 is free. If you have automatic downloads turned on, you are probably already updated. If you don’t already have the official Twitter app, you can download it for free in the App Store on the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch.
