I love backpacks but this is way above my normal bag quality. I bought my current backpack 7 years ago when I got a new MacBook and it has outlasted all of my computers. Sure, it is starting to show its age but it still works like a trooper. Here is a list of reasons why the Staad would be a huge step up:

My bag doesn’t have a slot for an iPad. The iPad was just a dream when I originally bought my bag and I had to purchase a special carrier so that it would be protected.
The Staad is very efficient in terms of space usage but it is too compact for my needs. One time I loaded three big hard drives in along with my laptop and a couple books. I wasn’t as worried about how it looked but I was certainly glad all of the gear could fit in it.
My bag is durable and the zippers have held up very well. The Staad is a different type of quality and it would perhaps last much longer than most bags. There is no question that WaterField has created an amazing bag.
I bought my bag on the Apple Store and it cost under $100. The Staad runs between $319-329. You are certainly getting what you pay for.
